Recently I have been reading up on some of our politicians, and some former politicians as well.
I started looking into some of the organization, laws, and politics that are a part of our country and its history, and it got me thinking...
Bad, power hungry, deceitful, lying male politicians are not great men!*
Without getting into specific names, there are many men in our country's history who have engaged in horrible behaviors for their own good.
I do not care how much money they have, how powerful is their family, how wonderful they think they are... those men* who use their power and position to enact laws for their own selfish benefit while others get hurt are just not good men.
Politicians that lie, cheat, and unlawfully cater to their friends so they will get votes are not great men!*
Politicians who think they are great while they are racking up their DUIs, cheating on their wives, lying to the public are not deserving of our honor or support!
There are so many truly great men in this world.... I'm thinking we need to vote some of the good ones into office!
*Please note... I realize there are women politicians. This post, in keeping with the theme is discussing the male politicians who are not great men.

I like the picture which illustrates your post. It says a lot. It is right what you say, but it is like this in many countries. Or even worse. We have a Minister in our government who was a rich (enormously rich) business man. But if you take public office you are not allowed to have some commercial venture. So, as a GOOD citizen, he sold his company. To this daughter! You see the picture?
:-( ? No :-)
Good point Jennifer !
Never met a politcian that I trusted por would have any desire to date, let alone marry.
The single minded pursuit of power and popularity speaks of a lack of concern for ethics and genuineness in their truest loving sense.
Jen,
Seems to be the nature of the beast doesn't it? The truth is, it does not have to be this way. We could elect good men and women to office. We as a people have to care more.
You know what they say, absolute power breeds absolute corruption. This has been true through the ages, from Kings, to Popes, to Presidents.
Yes, it is way overdue time for a noble person to take office. Mr/Ms. Smith, where are you?
Hi Peter..
Ahhh yes I see the picture! :-)
It is so surprising how we elect so many not-so-great men to run our country!
Seriously baffling!
JJ
Hi Annie...
You are sooooo right!
Sounds like you may have found yourself a great guy! ;-)
Lots of love,
Jen
Hi Mark,
You are so right... it doesn't have to be this way. We are the ones responsible for electing not-so-great folks! :-(
Yet, one does have to wonder why a great person would even want to run given how they are treated these days. Ya know?
Hope your day is a good one Mark,
Jen
I love your blog, this was wonderful...
Kudos, I will be back often!!
Hi Ticia...
Nice to have you here!
Wishing you a great day!
Jennifer
I find some of these comments offensive. My parents were minor politicians and they only did it to help the community. You people should put a leash on your hate!
