How to Tell if a Guy is a Jerk - Tip 29 - Polygamy

how to tell if a guy is a jerk, polygamy, finding a great man, justifying affairs
Polygamy - The God excuse for promiscuity.

Men who think God designed them to have multiple women are not for you.

Every once in a while I come across a man who believes that God created men to have many women. The reality is, these men use God to justify their inability to be faithful and dedicated to one woman. These men are not for you!

These men, rather than embrace the beauty of an exclusive relationship, rationalize their desire for numerous sexual partners as proof that God designed them to have multiple women in their lives.

This is nonsense. This idea is degrading to women, it is degrading to men, and it is completely antithetical to a healthy and happy intimate relationship.

This idea of men needing a variety of sexual partners, while women must remain faithful to one, reduces a man to an animal while reducing a woman to a slave. While this may have been a dynamic in some ancient primitive societies, civilized people have certainly evolved beyond this.

Aside from the obvious unhealthy rationalization, there are three clear and incorrect assumptions inherent in this attitude.

First, there is the assumption all men need multiple women. This is clearly not so.

Secondly, there is the assumption that men, more than women, are tempted, or engage in, affairs. This is also not true. (Given equal opportunity, the percentages of men and women that cheat are equal).

Finally, there is the assumption that men should be afforded rights, opportunities, or privileges not afforded to women. This is absurd.

Men who can't come to terms with their human nature, who use God as an excuse for their philandering, or who believe they have the God given right for multiple partners are not decent, caring men and will not make for a healthy partner in a long term relationship.

Using God to justify primitive animalistic behavior is just plain wrong.

You're so, right, Jennifer!

This excuse is such a cop out.

Both men and women have to fight the good fight and try to remain monogamous -- come what may.

Have you seen that preview for the new "LoverBoy" movie?

It's a woman who hooked up with all these men in the false notion that different sperm would create a better child. Kooky.

And what about all these men claiming to be the father of Anna Nicole's baby?

Geesh. What a sad legacy.
