If a guy doesn't leave a tip for a server, he is not the guy for you.
Now this may sound like a small thing but our actions are reflections of our thoughts and ideas. We can learn a lot by some simple behaviors.
We can know several traits about a guy who refuses to tip a server. First, he is just plain rude. Servers depend on their tips for the living and typically do not get paid much on an hourly basis.
Secondly, we know he takes advantage of the service of others. He expects others to wait on him without paying for the service.
Finally, we see a guy more concerned with keeping his money than being a decent honest guy and paying for what he has received.
Not tipping may be a red flag for some deeper difficulties.

This arguement or test is not good. Waiters are paid less by restaurant owners because there is a possibility that they will be compensated in tips. Mind you food is in no way priced less than possible maximum by restaurant owners. Tipping has been wrongfully attached to the manners of a diner. When and what I pay for a sandwich - I have paid for the price of getting me that sandwich, cleanliness of the place, ketchup, service, cleanliness of the place etc. If any of these is not what it should be according to me, it will influence my decision of buying that sandwich from that place. Tipping is wrong !!!
Too generous tipping will convey to me that the guy is not very careful with the money and is a attention seeker (from waitress in this case).
