How to tell if a Guy is a Jerk - Tip 19 - He is a Gladiator Wannabe

how to tell if a guy is a jerk, cladiator wannabe, how to find a terrific man, tips for finding a good man, jerksIf a guy is a gladiator wannabe he is not for you.

What is a gladiator wannabe? Well, I'm not talking about a guy who wishes he was Russel Crow... I'm talking about guys who are really into the latest craze of pretend fighting and wrestling currently on American TV.

Now... for those foreign readers who are unfamiliar with this American oddity let me explain. We have programs where the males overdose on steroids, get long hair extensions, wear really dorky costumes, get in a boxing ring and pretend to fight. They throw chairs, pull hair, run around yelling and provoking each, all the while looking totally ridiculous.

I know you are wondering if I am making this up... no. For some reason there are guys into this.

OK... back to my tip.

We are all familiar with Roman gladiators. Most of us look at this primitive form of entertainment with disgust and disbelief.

Guys who haven't moved beyond celebrating this weirdness, who get some sort of pleasure watching other grown men with hair extensions pretend to be violent animals are most likely not exactly great guys!

There just seems to be something unhealthy or unevolved in guys who think yelling, screaming, wearing funny costumes, and pretending to beat up others is cool or manly.

Best find those guys who have moved beyond the day of the gladiator!

Now that is a funny tip! Are you being serious, or just funny? Because I can't tell. My cousin is really into the wrestling thing and I can't begin to understand why. But then again I love cage fighting which is real bloody fighting, so who am I to judge. But if you are serious, you might think about this generalization for a minute. Like the generalization that therapists are psycho and are trying to fix the world because they cannot fix themselves. That is a generalization that I used to buy into. But I am doing my best to curb my prejudism. We are all the same underneath all of these layers of pain and repression.

I've never been a fan of wrestling. I like The Rock as a personality but not as a wrestler. (he seems so charming when interviewed about his movies and stuff)

In Australia it's not a big thing I suppose anyway.

Jennifer I'm working on a site that I would love to have you contribute to I'll send you an email later on tonight - or maybe via mybloglog.

As always a great read!
