How to Tell if a Guy is Married

I've had a few readers ask how they can tell if a guy is married.

If a woman is wondering, we can assume the man is presenting himself as a single man; no wedding ring, flirting, looking, giving women attention.

So, the question really is, if a man appears single, how can a woman tell if he is lying?

This is an easy one.

Listen to your gut. If your intuition tells you something is up, it is.

Your subconscious mind is picking up literally thousands of clues that are not in your conscious awareness. Your senses are aware of hundreds of little eye movements, slight pauses, non-verbal language that creates a picture and gives you this knowledge through your intuition. TRUST IT!

Most often women who get involved with a married guy who lies to them, upon learning the truth, state that they knew something wasn't quite right. Over and over again we hear stories of women knowing instinctively the guy was married but wanting to believe he was single.

Again, listen to your intuition. Trust yourself.

If a guys is pretending to be single, lying to you, cheating on his wife, he wants one thing and one thing only.

Do not get involved with such a man. You deserve a whole lot better!

Tip 9 - Drinking and Driving

Drinking and Driving is a very clear sign a guy is NOT for you!

There is no excuse, not reason, no justification for driving while under the influence of alcohol or any other drug.

If a guy is so careless that he would not consider the ramifications of his behavior, putting the lives of others in danger, he is not worth investing one minute of your time in hopes of a long term relationship.

He may be a nice guy, he may buy you flowers, he may even tell you he loves you, but if he doesn't care enough about the lives of others to be responsible in his drinking, he will not be a good husband or father.

Guys that drink and drive should be in jail so they do not harm others, not on a date with you.

Tip 8 - Expects You To Clean Up After Him

If a guy expects you to clean up after him, you know he does not respect you.

Guys that think their "woman" should do the cleaning are guys that consider women as servant or housekeepers. Now, we would all enjoy a butler or maid now and then but expecting our life partner to be such is not only unrealistic but unfortunate.

Yes we all know that for thousands of years women have been relegated to housekeeper/servant but today there are great guys who want a wife who is an equal partner. There are many men who value the intimacy and love that comes when two people share their lives, not as servant/master but as loving partners.

If a guy is still stuck in the fifties, hoping for a woman who will be his servant girl, cleaning up his dirty socks, washing all the dishes, heading his every call, he is not a guy who will make for a healthy modern day husband.

Now, of course we all enjoy giving, helping, and even serving our loved ones at times. This is quite different than a guy having the expectation that this is the wife's duty while he enjoys the comfort of being waited on day in and day out.

Don't let yourself fall into the trap of dating a guy who treats you poorly. There are great guys who want a partner who is not a servant!

Tip 7 - Excessive Time at the Gym

Exercising is a great activity! Caring for our body, staying in shape, working out... all great!

But when a guy is hanging out at the gym for four or five hours a day, something is up. We have a guy giving you a good clue that he is not the right one for you!

In a world filled with wonderful things to do, places to visit, ideas to create, working on one's body for hours on end can mean trouble.

What is going on with guys who feel compelled to look a certain (unnatural) way? Why the obsession? Maybe there is an unhealthy need to be stronger than other men. It could be a way to overcome some insecurity. Maybe it a guy feels like his body will attract women? Whatever the case, this obsession does not lend itself to a healthy relationship.

You want a man who has some balance in his life; a guy who cares about his mind, spirit, relationships, family, career, and the world, as much as his form.

If a guy cares more about his body than he does about you, time to let him go hang out at the gym!

Tip 6 - A Guy is Mean to his Mom

If a guy is mean to his mom, you can be pretty sure he is going to be mean to his life partner.

If a man is rude to his mother, it is a clear indication that he does not respect her, nor does he honor her for the love and energy she extended for his care.

Now, of course there are those women who were horrible moms who do not deserve respect but still there is no need to be rude. If a man dislikes his mother (for whatever reason) he can still be a decent human being and take the high road in his behavior.

Most moms, though less than perfect, do their best to love and care for their children. A man who realizes the challenge of this job is a man who will realize the value of a great woman!

Notice how a man treats his mother and you will get a good indication of how he will treat you as a life partner. The more a man honors, respects, and cares for his mother the more you can be assured he will honor and respect you as well!

Tip 5 - Guys Addicted to Video Games

We all need some relaxation and fun in life. We require some "down time".

What we do not need is a daily five hour dose of video games.

Guys who spend more time playing Play Station 3, then they do earning a living, or engaging in real life have some issues and are not the type of guy you want to partner with for the rest of your life!

Life is a constant effort to balance our needs. Sometimes we must work late, other times we may require more centering and relaxation. Finding healthy outlets to reduce stress and unwind are great. Obsessing with the latest video game day in and day out is not conducive to a healthy life and harmful to any relationship.

If a guy is more interested in conquering the fantasy girl in the latest video game than he is in interacting with you, time to let him go. The fantasy girl can have him!

Tip 4 - Guys that Lie

If a guy lies to you, drop him like a dead fish!

If a guy is lying to you, you have a few problems. First he doesn't respect you at all, second you know you can't trust him, third, he has no integrity, and fourth he is doing something about which he doesn't want you to know.

This is not the kind of guy you want to be with.

There are plenty of guys out there who are honest and decent. They wouldn't think of lying to anyone let alone someone they want to be with.

For the life of me I do not understand guys who lie to their potential partner but more unbelievable is the women who ignore this very serious character flaw. Do not go for this guy!

Tip 3 - Parking in Handicapped Spaces

If a guy parks in handicapped parking spaces he is not for you!

Do not even give this guy a second chance.

If a guy parks in places created for those in need what do you know about him? You know he doesn't care for anyone. He is selfish and thinks it is more important to save a few steps than to make life easier for those less able than is he.

This guy doesn't care about the law, he doesn't care about community, he doesn't care about anyone other than himself.

I repeat... do not even remotely think about this guy as a potential partner!

How to tell if a guy is a jerk: Tip 2 - Power & Control issues are ISSUES

Power and Control issues are rarely overcome without serious therapy.

It goes without saying but I will say it anyway... if a guy is abusive he is not a man with whom you want to share your life.

Love is never about abuse. NEVER!

If you notice a tendency in a guy to exert power, authority, and control over you, please understand that the relationship is an unhealthy one.

Typically abuse starts out mild and escalates as the relationship progresses. Please take note and do not involve yourself in a partnership that will end you up dead or in a hospital.

There are many wonderful men who would never consider harming a woman let alone a woman with whom they wish to share their lives.

You do not need this sort of man in your life. You deserve a man who will love you and care for you!

How to tell if a guy is a Jerk: Tip 1 - If a guy is married, STAY AWAY!

If a guy is married he is NOT the one for you! Trust me on this. He may want a fling, a little extra bit of fun on the side but he is not interested in you as an exlusive partner, a companion, or wife.

No matter how many times he tells you, he loves you more than his wife, she is a witch, and you are the one for him... HE IS LYING! He is having a little fantasy at your expense!

Do not, under any circumstances fall for this as-old-as-the-hills deception.

Think about it, do you even want to be with someone who is cheating on his wife? What does that say about his moral character? His sense of decency? His ability to be honest, truthful, committed? What does it say about his sense of family, compassion, and concern for others?

It tells you loud and clear that he is a jerk!

Do not walk away from this type of guy.... RUN! And run fast.
